My mate has an original 64 pickguard, pickups, pots, cap and switch with the solder untouched but I'm a bit scared to even ask him how much he wants for it. Need to find an original red dime capacitor for it though (been asking around all the old radio shops), as I only have a yellow dime CRL of. The guitar body is from 1964 I think, came with grey bottom pickups and 64 dates on the pots, although this didn't come with the body when I purchased it, I'm putting in 63 pots and 63 3 way with the three patent numbers on it. Not sure how I will get the paint out of the divots yet, pick it out or make a pool in the paint and use a tiny bit of acetone anyone have any idea's? Click to expand.Yeah just sanding through different grades getting finer and finer as I get near the original finish.
